Marc Maiorana Studio
Marc Maiorana learned blacksmithing from his father and earned a BFA in Metalsmithing from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He was a resident artist at the Penland School of Crafts and has taught at Yestermorrow, Peters Valley Craft Center, Penland School of Crafts, and Haystack School of Crafts.
His work has exhibited at the Museum of Design Atlanta, National Ornamental Metals Museum, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Renwick Gallery, and has been featured in Audi, American Craft, Gourmet, Dwell, Food and Wine, Metalsmith, The Washington Post, and The New York Times. Marc was awarded a Professional Fellowship from the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and is in the permanent collection of The Peabody Essex Museum, Minneapolis Institute of Art, National Ornamental Metal Museum, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
Marc’s commissions span private residences to the Smithsonian American Art Museum’s Renwick Gallery, and his production wares have been shipped to clients in 22 countries. He has been a full time maker since 2002.
